Serve with steamed carrots and dinner rolls for a satisfying meal.
Yield: 4 servings
1/4 | cup | honey | |

3 | tablespoons | water | |
|
|||
1 1/2 | teaspoons | dry mustard | |
|
|||
1/2 | teaspoon | ground ginger | |
|
|||
1/4 | teaspoon | ground cloves | |
|
|||
1 | fully cooked ham steak (about 12 to 16 ounces) | ||
|
|||
Fresh sage leaves for garnish (optional) | |||
|
Combine honey, water, dry mustard, ginger and cloves in a small bowl.
On top rack of preheated oven broiler, broil ham steak on both sides until lightly browned and throughly heated. (Or pan-fry ham steak on both sides in nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.)
Place ham on heated serving dish; set aside. Cover to keep warm.
Add honey mixture to pan drippings and bring to a boil. Simmer 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Brush sauce over ham; serve remaining sauce separately.
Garnish with fresh sage leaves, if desired.
